Interface ReflectionAccessor

public interface ReflectionAccessor

Reflection API, required for cases when the Java Reflection API isn't supported (libGdx GWT, for example).

Method Detail

createInstanceNoArgs

java.lang.Object createInstanceNoArgs(java.lang.Class<?> clazz)

Creates an instance of this class through reflection. Class must have a no-args constructor. Bypasses any checked exceptions that could be throw and throws them at runtime.

Parameters:

clazz - Class to instantiate.

Returns:

An instance of the provided class.

Throws:

java.lang.RuntimeException - If an error occurred while instantiating an object of the class (for example, if the class doesn't have a no-args constructor).

getNoArgsMethod

java.lang.reflect.Method getNoArgsMethod(java.lang.Class<?> clazz,
                                         java.lang.String methodName)

Returns a method with the provided name that takes no-args.

Parameters:

clazz - Class to search.

methodName - Method name.

Returns:

A method with the provided name that takes no-args.

Throws:

java.lang.RuntimeException - If the class doesn't contain a no-args method with the given name.

lookupMethod

java.lang.reflect.Method lookupMethod(java.lang.Class<?> clazz,
                                      java.lang.String methodName)

Find the first encountered method with the provided name. Doesn't take parameters into account. Includes inherited methods.

Parameters:

clazz - Class to search.

methodName - Method name.

Returns:

First encountered method with the provided name.

Throws:

java.lang.IllegalArgumentException - If the class doesn't contain a method with the provided name.

invokeNoArgs

<T> T invokeNoArgs(java.lang.Object instance,
                   java.lang.reflect.Method method)

Invokes the method, using the provided instance as 'this'. Method must be no-args and have a return value of type T. If the method is private, it will be made accessible outside of it's class.

Type Parameters:

T - Return type.

Parameters:

instance - Instance to use as 'this' for invocation.

method - Method to invoke.

Returns:

Result of invoking the no-args method.

Throws:

java.lang.RuntimeException - If an error occurred invoking the method.

assertReturnValue

void assertReturnValue(java.lang.reflect.Method method,
                       java.lang.Class<?> expectedReturnType)

Assert that the given method returns the expected return type.

Parameters:

method - Method to assert.

expectedReturnType - Expected return type of the method.

Throws:

java.lang.IllegalArgumentException - If the method's return type doesn't match the expected type.

assertNoParameters

void assertNoParameters(java.lang.reflect.Method method)

Assert that the given method takes no parameters.

Parameters:

method - Method to assert.

Throws:

java.lang.IllegalArgumentException - If the method takes any parameters.

reflectMethodParameters

java.util.List<ReflectionParameter> reflectMethodParameters(java.lang.reflect.Method method)

Returns basic information about a method's parameters obtained via reflection.

Parameters:

method - Method to reflect parameters for.

Returns:

The method's parameter information obtained via reflection.
