cleanupDots

public static String cleanupDots(String path)

Remove the . and .. from a path. Must not have the root inside (e.g "tmp/dir/../file" not "/tmp/dir/../file")

Parameters:

path - the path

Returns:

the path cleaned up

createDirectoriesToFile

public static boolean createDirectoriesToFile(File destination)

Creates all the parents directories of the destination file.

Parameters:

destination - the file that needs to have all its parents directories created

Returns:

true if it succeeded

createDirectory

public static boolean createDirectory(String directoryPath)

Create a directory with all its parents.

Parameters:

directoryPath - the absolute path

Returns:

true if successfully created

createTemporaryDirectory

public static File createTemporaryDirectory(String prefix)

Create a temporary directory.

Parameters:

prefix - The prefix string to be used in generating the dir's name; must be at least three characters long

Returns:

the directory or null if could not create

listSubDirectoriesName

public static List<String> listSubDirectoriesName(File directory)

Lists all the names of the directories in the specified location. Also sort them.

Parameters:

directory - the directory

Returns:

the list of sub-directories names
